Newgrange

The first stop is Newgrange, one of the world's most significant Neolithic sites, built over 5,000 years ago. Visitors can explore its passageway and inner burial chamber, home to Europe’s largest collection of megalithic art. The tour also includes a visit to The Brú na Bóinne Visitor Centre offers interactive exhibits and models that beautifully showcase the Neolithic period, shedding light on the importance of these prehistoric monuments.

Passage Tomb

Situated within the Brú na Bóinne complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, dates back more than 5,000 years. The site features a large central mound surrounded by 18 smaller satellite mounds. Inside the main mound are two passage tombs decorated with elaborate megalithic artwork, including spirals, circles, and other symbolic carvings. These engravings make Knowth an important location for understanding ancient European art and culture.

Hill of Slane

Next stop is the Hill of Slane, located in County Meath . The hill features a Franciscan Monastery and an ancient church which highlights Ireland's past. Enjoy views of the breath-taking Boyne Valley and unlock the legends of St. Patrick and Christianity.

 

Monasterbolce Monastic Site

 

Travel to county Louth and visit this early Christian site. The site carries the signifigence of Irish Religion back in the 5th Century. Monasterbolce Monastic site is known for it's high crosses and stone carvings. There is also a round tower on the grounds, which was used during the Viking raids.

 

Trim Castle

The final stop is the iconic Trim Castle. It is the largest Norman castle in Ireland and a remarkable example of medieval military architecture. Built in the late 12th century, this impressive fortress once served as a stronghold for the powerful Norman lords who controlled the region. Its massive stone walls, and well-preserved keeps provide a vivid glimpse into Ireland’s medieval past. Trim Castle also gained fame as a filming location for the movie Braveheart, adding to its cultural significance.
